Eu tive várias idéias sobre coisas pra escrever aqui hoje, mas sempre que começava a escrever sobre alguma delas, aparecia outra idéia e tomava o lugar da anterior. Pensei em escrever sobre o atual campeonato de Fórmula 1. Infelizmente, o Felipe Massa não tem mais chances de ser campeão, mas desde 1986 não ocorre do campeonato ser decidido na última corrida e com três pilotos podendo ser campeões. Minhas primeiras lembranças envolvendo F1 datam desse mesmo campeonato. O campeão na época foi Alain Prost, e os outros dois pilotos que ainda tinham chance na última corrida eram Nelson Piquet e Nigel Mansell. Parece-me que os bons tempos da F1 estão voltando. Na última corrida, no Brasil, eu vou torcer pro Massa ganhar a corrida, é claro, e acho que já não me importo muito em quem vai ser campeão não. Independente do resultado, esta temporada está sendo a melhor dos últimos muitos anos. Mas americanos não sabem transmitir corrida de F1. Intervalos comercias a cada 5 minutos, é desesperador! A grande vantagem, e que aqui não tem o Galvão Bueno se achando e narrando as corridas, no lugar deles tem dois narradores ultra-empolgados que ficam se divertindo às custas dos erros dos pilotos, e comentando como se fossem dois telespectadores assistindo na frente da TV, um deles tem um sotaque que parece ser australiano, e que eu mal entendo, o outro é americano mesmo.
Pensei em escrever coisas sem sentido também. Coisas sobre poeira e cinzas. Mas eu não cheguei a lugar nenhum pensando sobre isso. O objetivo em si não era se chegar a conclusão nenhuma, mas também não consegui deixar a coisa caótica o suficiente. Daí veio medo, fantasmas, oblívio, fogo, e outras idéias meio caóticas, mas resolvi que não queria aquilo também. Cansei de medo. Estou saturado de falar sobre fantasmas. Esqueci do oblívio, mas por incrível que pareça ele não se esqueceu de mim. E está muito calor aqui pra eu querer falar de fogo. Ah... 141 = 3 x 47.
Podia falar da aranha que resolveu morar debaixo da minha cama, mas acho que ela resolveu se mudar de novo. Pelo menos assim, eu não preciso me preocupar com o possível fato da aranha ser mais uma das criaturas enviadas pelO Cubo pra me vigiar. Mas eu ainda tenho minhas dúvidas sobre as capacidade miméticas dessa aranha. É bem possível que ela esteja camuflada, observando todos os meus movimentos, e relatando tudo aO Cubo. Espero que isso seja apenas paranóia minha, mas é melhor eu tomar cuidado.
Na minha vida tem uma certa garota que parece que tem um certo prazer em querer me deixar pra baixo. Eu realmente não entendo o porquê dela não me deixar em paz. Ela só me procura pra falar dos problemas dela, e sempre que eu resolvo dar um "oi", ela resolve inventar um problema novo. E não é raro ela vir com ataques meio indiretos direcionados a minha pessoa. Mas desde que eu a conheço, esses tipos de ataque são frequentes, e há alguns anos atrás eles não tinham nada de indireto, eram bem diretos e bem destruidores. Mas o fato é que, depois de aguentar essas coisas por anos, elas têm se tornado mais e mais irrelevantes. Infelizmente, para mim, ela parece que não percebe como estes joguinhos são ridículos, e só ajudam a melhorar minhas defesas, e a destruir o que um dia eu senti por ela. Daqui uns dias eu acabo desistindo de vez de tentar ser amigo da dita cuja, e a mando p'ro grupo dos demônios exorcisados.

Vista & Internet at home
I have decided to use Windows Vista in my computer. It is really not as bad as people say. It is heavier than Windows XP, of course, but the reason is that there are many new features, and it is also much more attractive than the old Windows XP. People usually complain about compatibility issues, and until now I have not observed any kind of compatibility issue here. But it is not an OS than can be used in any kind of computer, it is really a resource eater. At this moment, Vista is using more than 1GB of my memory, luckly I have 2GB, but I also have some programs running in the background. If I tweak it a little and stop some unuseful things to run in the background, I am sure I can free some good amount of resource. There is also something called Windows Superfetch that studies how you use the computer, and based on it pre-load the most used programs in the RAM at the startup, so this thing eats some memory, but it is also very useful, as it make your prefered programs open and run faster, as it also give priority to these programs over background processes. And I can always turn off the Aero, and have Vista running without any of the 3D-effects that it usually have, and then free some memory too, but I am not doing that. It is beautiful to look at all those effects, and after long time using Windows XP, I got kind of tired of the XP look. I am using it for not so long a time, and I still have much to learn about it, but until now I am liking it. I do not recommend its use if you have less than 1GB of RAM, but it is perfect if you have 2GB as I do. If you have more than 2GB of RAM, I recommend you using Vista-64, as Vista-32 has some issues when using more than 2GB of RAM, and it is a little tricky to make it recognize properly more than the 2 first gigabytes of RAM, due to a 32-bit OS capacity to address at most 4GB of memory, and also having to address the VGA card memory, and virtual memory.
Eventually I am going to install the Linux in another partition, but I am going to wait some time, as I was having some problems with compatibility issues with some of my new computer components, that are not yet recognized by it, during my first installation try. And as I do not have a reliable Internet connection at home, it is hard to look for solutions in forums for those problems, and then correct them.
Regarding Internet at home, I will not have anything like that at home for some time yet. I will have to try to "steal" the poor wireless signals I have at home, at the most uncomfortable places, at the lowest speed, that makes me more annoyed than relieved. My roommate who is in San Francisco, and blocked the cable TV/Internet, before she left, could not unlock it before the programmed unlock-time, that is in September. I really do not think she tried hard to unlock it, but as she is far away, and I will be moving from her apartment at the end of next month, I will not complain about it with her. And one more month without Internet at home won't kill me. After all, I can burn some time of work in the University doing things I should be doing at home, as she may be thinking (What a brazillian guy would do on the Internet? Do they have Internet there?? I don't think he has lots of thing to do on the Internet after all. I won't lose my time trying harder to solve this for him. I don't even think he knows how to use properly a computer.). No more comments about this issue!
Next time I will write about my personal view of the american society. And I will write it in portuguese! (If you know what that means!)
And I don't have the Harry Potter book yet, so no comments about it either!! :P

Post 91. Not a prime! The next is 97.
- Now that I have a computer I am watching Heroes again. I begin to watch it from the start again, and I have noticed a little improvement in my english understanding.
- I still did not watch the last episode of Lost.
- I still could not "steal" a wireless signal at home, and I don't know why. I guess I have to wait sometime before having Internet at home. Bah...
- I finished all my books. I need more books!!
- Sunday I am going to a Conference in South Hadley, MA, called Gordon Conference: Origins of the Solar System. And I am gonna spend a week there. People are going by car, and it will be a 10h to 12h trip. Lots of pictures to be taken.
- I may be going to watch Transformers today. I have yet to decide it.
- Next year Fallout 3 will be released!! I want very much to play that!!
- I also want to play Guitar Hero 2, Guitar Hero 3, Guitar Hero: The 80's, and Rock Band!! Rock Band is something like Guitar Hero, but you can play any of the instruments, and even sing. Awesome! I miss to play Guitar Hero! Damn, I need to play it... :P
- This month Monster Manual 5 was released. I guess they should try release something different. They should release supplements about each of the Planes. I am tired of only monsters, and classes!!
- At this moment I am hearing the classical, and one of the best of Black Sabbath's: Heaven and Hell.
- This is a worthless dot, and is here just for the post to have a prime numbers of dots. I don't like the 11, though, so I will continue until the next one...
- I think I am going to buy some books today. I just don't know what, yet...
- Just to finish, with another prime number of dots. Next friday is a Friday 13th. Whatever... (91 = 7x13).

Some random stuff and the iPhone...
Yesterday I realized that my office number is a prime number. I did not know how I have not factorized that number until yesterday, but then I did it, and it is a prime number! Just perfect. The number is 929.
Wednesday I have met my advisor, and she told me that would be a good idea if I went to a conference called Gordon Conference: Origins of the Solar System. This conference begins next sunday, July 8th, and then now I had less than a week to prepare a poster for this conference. So here I am... Working in a saturday afternoon. And next week I will be going to a city called South Hadley in Massachussets. People here are going there by car, and as I was told it is a 10h to 12h driving. I will take a hike with someone... That will be fine. I can take some pictures of the countryside.
Yesterday, it was June 29th, and it was the release day of the iPhone. I have never seen so much hype because of a cell phone in my life!! Everyone was talking about it, almost everyone wants one, and people were in lines all over the US waiting for the stores to open to buy one. It is price is $600, and the cheapest plan you need to use it is $60 per month. The iPhone is not exactly a cell phone, it is much more than that, and this is the reason everyone wants one. You can access the Internet through it, either using your cell phone provider network, in this case the AT&T, or you can access the Internet wherever there is a wireless network (almost everywhere here in the US). It also has a 4GB or 8GB memory, where you can save songs, and videos, and other multimedia files, as an iPod do. And it is also a phone. With this $60 per month, you have unlimited Internet access, unlimited calls to other mobiles anywhere inside the US continental territory, 200 SMS messages, and I don't know what more. And $60 for it all here is EXPENSIVE!! It is not like in Brazil, where with a R$60,00 plan, I just have some extra free minutes to call another phone.
There are some problems with the iPhone though, first of all it is a new kind of concept, and as such there will be lots of problems with this first generation, and those problems will be eventually corrected in the next generations. There is also the problem that if you wnat one, you have to sign with AT&T, the only cell phone carrier authorized to use the iPhone, and that is the reason the service prices are so expensive for the US market. But these are not enough for most of the people here, they want an iPhone, and they will get one, no matter the price! It was almost the same last year, when the PS3, the Nintendo Wii were launched. Everyone wanted one, and there where lines everywhere. But I am going to tell you, this little thing will revolutionize communications and mobile devices everywhere in the world. It is also very beautiful, and all it is functions are accessed through a touch screen display. There are only two or three true buttons in the device, all the rest you do in the touch screen. Awesome! But I would wait for a next generation until have one, and until the prices dropped a little more too... But as I am not gonna stay in the US for so long, I guess I will not have an iPhone for sometime either.
If you want an iPhone in Brazil, you will have to wait sometime yet, as Apple does not have any intention to release it for the Latin America so soon. And I bet, that if you want to use it, you would have to pay around R$200,00 per month, only to use the basic functions on it, with limited Internet time. Just ridiculous!! I really love Brazil, but when I compare some things here in the US and in Brazil, there is simply no way for me to not get annoyed with some things in my country. Unfortunately!! Bah!
My computer was not delivered yet, but I guess I will have it monday. That is it for now...

Digital Camera
Now I have a digital camera! And as soon as I find out how to read the photos from the card reader in my office's computer I will start to post these photos somewhere. (I know there is an USB port, but I don't know how to access it from the linux yet, nor do I think I have permission to use it, as it actually seems I have no access permission to any USB device in this computer, I will need to talk with the system administrator here about it.)
I have bought the camera thursday, and it arrived friday. I was at home awaiting for it, and the time was passing and nothing... When it was around 14:30 for some unknown reason I decided to open the apartment door, and to my surprise just in front of it, over the floor, there it was, a small box with my name on it. I have not heard any kind of knock on the door, not the doorbell, nothing... The guy simply left it there in front of the door and then went away. Well... It should not be a problem at all, if the apartment building have a gate or something like that, but there is no kind of gate, anyone can enter the building blocks, and have access to each of the apartments doors. That is what I call 'Trust in People'! That kind of thing should never work in Brazil... Unfortunately!
Next time I buy something, it will probably be my laptop, so after that, I will not tell them to deliver it to my apartment, I guess I will tell them to deliver it to my office in the Astronomy Department. Not that I don't trust them, but well, as a good brazillian guy, I am still a bit paranoid about those things, and I do not want to lose the money I will spend on that computer... :P
As you all, my brazillian friends, can see, things here are very different from things in Brazil... My only problem here until now, is that I do not know many people here yet, but I will try to remedy that soon... Yesterday, a girl that I knew some days ago (she is a friend of the girl who "lives" in the aparment with me) invited me to go to swim in her building's pool, so I went there. And there were also some of her friends there too, but sometimes when they were talking I got totally lost in their conversation. But it was fun, nevertheless, and I was really needing to swim a little...
So, it is time to catch the Magic Bus and go home... 17 days here, and I am fine, and it is getting more interesting every day! ;)

Intro to Dots and Lines
The dots are flying everywhere. Are they only dots? I do not know, but I can see them flying. There are also lines covering everything, but I do not see them anymore. Maybe the lines were just illusions, or maybe they were real, or maybe just my mind playing with me.
I am tired, and I am not being able to think anything more to write. I will write about the lines and the dots another time, and maybe next time I will also write about planes or hyperplanes. Who knows what tricks my mind may be playing with me next time!?
Have you ever seen beyond the veils? Many veils, and many chains... I never knew any free person in my life. Everyone I know is entagled in a web of chains, every kind of chains. And most people can not see that. Most people prefer to be blind.
I am blind, and I am chained. But I have seen once, and I want to see again. What have I seen? Void. I want freedom.

Resumo
Gostaria de reiterar sobre o objetivo principal deste blog. Alguma das últimas mensagens podem parecer totalmente sem sentido. E elas realmente não tem sentido nenhum, e este é o ponto. Claro, para a pessoa que escreve, existe realmente um sentido oculto naquilo. Quero dizer que vocês podem ficar à vontade lendo, e se quiserem podem fazer um esforço de tentar entender o sentido oculto da mensagem, ou ainda interpretar da maneira que for mais conveniente para vocês.
O objetivo aqui é o Caos. E em várias das mensagens, eu estou tentando brincar com isso. Algumas são mais sérias do que outras, mas os momentos são assim realmente. Espero que os puristas da linguagem não achem ruim quando eu misturar inglês e português na mesma mensagem. E eu vou continuar escrevendo tanto em inglês quanto em português. Infelizmente meu alemão não é tão bom de modo a poder misturá-lo às mensagens também. E claro, eventualmente, eu ainda vou usar "scramblespeak", aí sim que ninguém vai entender nada. Se alguém leu a "scramblepoetry" a alguns dias atrás, eu digo que "scramblespeak" é algo parecido.
Qualquer dia eu falo sobre o limbo, nunca falei dele, e ele é importante. Apenas tenho que estar mais inspirado.
Eu ainda gosto do número 897, portanto ele ainda fica escondido por aí. Quando eu achar um número primo legal, eu o coloco aqui. Normalmente, eu fatoro números de placas, ou número das comandas de restaurante, em busca de novos números primos, de cabeça, mas não tenho feito isso ultimamente.
Eu já zerei o "Guitar Hero", e já nem estou jogando tanto quanto antes. Cansei de jogar PS2 de novo.
Ainda estou esperando o e-mail da minha co-orientadora, falando sobre o erro no código do programa.
Nunca mais vi a menina "heavy metal" com os braços todos marcados por cortes que eu encontrei no ônibus. E nunca mais sonhei com a menina dos olhos verdes brilhantes, mas encontrei com ela pessoalmente.
Estou lendo um livro chamado "O Despertar dos Mágicos". Um dia eu falo mais sobre ele.
E a Vida continua. O Tempo ainda passa, mas eu ainda descubro uma maneira de vencê-lo. O Mundo continua gigantesco com suas ilhas minúsculas no meio do pacífico. A Dor um dia desaparece, e eventualmente aparece de novo. Medos são difíceis de vencer, mas devem ser vencidos. Os Fantasmas ainda assombram. Mas sempre haverá a Esperança na busca de um novo dia, melhor que o anterior.
O Castelo continua em construção. E o Diamante, ainda bruto, continua sendo lapidado. Os Olhos brilharão novamente, a Força retornará aos músculos. O Propósito primordial voltará a consciência. O jovem Dragão ousará voar alto, muito alto.

Qualquer dia eu falo sobre o limbo, nunca falei dele, e ele é importante. Apenas tenho que estar mais inspirado.
Eu ainda gosto do número 897, portanto ele ainda fica escondido por aí. Quando eu achar um número primo legal, eu o coloco aqui. Normalmente, eu fatoro números de placas, ou número das comandas de restaurante, em busca de novos números primos, de cabeça, mas não tenho feito isso ultimamente.
Eu já zerei o "Guitar Hero", e já nem estou jogando tanto quanto antes. Cansei de jogar PS2 de novo.
Ainda estou esperando o e-mail da minha co-orientadora, falando sobre o erro no código do programa.
Nunca mais vi a menina "heavy metal" com os braços todos marcados por cortes que eu encontrei no ônibus. E nunca mais sonhei com a menina dos olhos verdes brilhantes, mas encontrei com ela pessoalmente.
Estou lendo um livro chamado "O Despertar dos Mágicos". Um dia eu falo mais sobre ele.
E a Vida continua. O Tempo ainda passa, mas eu ainda descubro uma maneira de vencê-lo. O Mundo continua gigantesco com suas ilhas minúsculas no meio do pacífico. A Dor um dia desaparece, e eventualmente aparece de novo. Medos são difíceis de vencer, mas devem ser vencidos. Os Fantasmas ainda assombram. Mas sempre haverá a Esperança na busca de um novo dia, melhor que o anterior.
O Castelo continua em construção. E o Diamante, ainda bruto, continua sendo lapidado. Os Olhos brilharão novamente, a Força retornará aos músculos. O Propósito primordial voltará a consciência. O jovem Dragão ousará voar alto, muito alto.

Revoltante! Tem um "897" escrito no meu modelo de blog, mas 897 não é nem um número primo!! Ah, não!! Vou ter que dar um jeito nisso. Bom, pelo menos tem um 23 no meio, e 23 é sempre um número bom! Por enquanto ele fica.
897=3*13*23
Pensando bem, ele é até interessante, o produto dos três primeiros números naturais terminados em 3! Estou começando a gostar dele. Número simpático, e é formado pelos 3 últimos algarismos. É! O sujeito que o colocou aí, é bem esperto. Vou deixar, até eu encontrar outro número melhor!
